Nnukwu Holdings is a technology company. We build and back technology projects that solve fundamental problems in how Africa trades, works, lives and moves.
Who we are
We are not a carrier, a bank or a utility. We are a technology company working on the problems underneath all three: how a consignment is priced, documented and tracked; how a five-person business keeps its records; how a household pays for power; how a city moves.
Our projects start in the field, with the operators and households who live the friction, and end in software they can run on the devices they already own.
How we choose what to build
- The problem has to be fundamental. If it disappears when a spreadsheet is tidied up, it is not ours.
- The people affected must be able to pay for the solution, directly or through the business that serves them.
- There must be a technology path that works on low bandwidth, low-cost devices and intermittent power.
- We must be able to measure, after a year, whether it worked.
How we work
Small teams, close to the market they build for, with engineering that stays in-house. Each project is run as its own venture, with its own product, its own customers and its own measure of success.
We publish what we learn, including the parts that did not work, because the institutions and operators we work with need the evidence as much as we do.
